18. steering column

 
The steering column is fabricated from stainless steel, with the horn operated at the wheel. I used an original steering lock and fabricated the hanger.

The horn blows from a horn button located on the steering wheel. Although not pictured here, the steering wheel is Dennis Crooks’ reproduction of a ‘39 Ford Deluxe but with a 2” smaller diameter.

¨       Why: I wanted a steering column that would be small enough to fit the ‘32 locking 1 1/2” round original key lock.

¨       How: I used stainless steel tube and an original Ford interior lock.
